In addition to nearby Trujillo, Cáceres which exhibits Arabic, Renaissance and contemporary treasures ( Helga de Alvear ), the Roman ruins of Merida and the Monastery of Guadalupe, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are some of the excellent options that the area offers to enjoy cultural and gastronomic getaways from Viña del Cura (all less than an hour by car). For nature lovers, Monfragüe National Park , where you can observe eagles, hawks and vultures in their natural habitat. Barruecos Park and the Vostell Museum of Malpartida surprise us with their extravagant juxtaposition of nature, tradition and avant-garde art. For our foodies and wine lovers, we recommend the already well-established Atrio Restaurant recently awarded three stars from the Michelin Guide in nearby Cáceres and the Bodegas Habla, a great local surprise with national and international tasting awards.
The Iberian Peninsula presents a rich opportunity for cultural, gastronomic, and landscape immersion. We recommend that you enhance your experience by extending your stay at the beginning or end of your visit to Extremadura. It is worth spending at least a couple of days discovering Madrid or Lisbon from where you can connect with your international flights.
Travel to us
You will arrive at Viña del Cura taking the A-5 from Madrid. We are halfway between Madrid and Lisbon. The nearest airport is Madrid-Barajas, 2 and a half hours away. Lisbon airport is 3 and a half hours away, and Seville airport takes 3 hours.
Accommodation
The accommodation on the farm is varied and is described below according to category and options. The property has capacity for 10/16 people depending on the use of the rooms on a single or double basis. The farm includes three buildings: La Casa Grande, La Casa Pequeña and a separate house/studio we call La Casita de Ibiza. For larger groups, there is the possibility of additional accommodation at the local hotel, just ten minutes down the hill.
The pool is open during the warm months of the year, from the end of May to September. The house has a separate gym and sauna.
